Detection
is purely by personnel using the Headquarters and 2 smoke detectors located
within the hallways.
There is both
front and rear access to the building which is kept unlocked at all times during
occupancy.
Fire
extinguishers and Fire blankets are located within the building and are
regularly checked by the supplier - Blackwood Fire who issue the appropriate
check certificate and advise us on the necessary equipment required.
The building
has also been examined by the local Fire Brigade.
The assembly
area should the building require evacuation when in use has been identified as
the Car Park at the bottom of the Playing Field which is adjacent to the
building.
Fire Drills
are recommended to be carried out by each group once per term.
An appropriate
whistle to ensure attention is provided.
The external
gated area to the Headquarters is kept unlocked whilst the building is in use.
The
Headquarters and its grounds are classified as ‘ Non Smoking’ Areas.
GAS
LEAKS
Should a gas
leak be suspected or occur the gas supply can be turned off in two areas.

Within the
building itself i.e. by turning the shut off gas supply handle in the normal
toilet next to the toilet itself, to the closed position.

Externally
by the gas meter situated in the road fronted grounds of the Pentecostal
Church in Longcroft Road.
If a leak
occurs the Building should be immediately evacuated, the doors left open and the
Emergency Services contacted and the Gas Company’s Emergency Telephone Number.

NOT SHUT OFF OR PUT ANY LIGHTS ON SHOULD A GAS LEAK OCCUR
