It all started in September 2009, with a Gwent County Launch Party at Chepstow Race Course. This included Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section girls, Leaders & Trefoil members. We had an amazing day & the weather was very kind to us all. – Ending with all the girls & Leaders Parading around the race course, with the Centenary Dragon in the lead.

Over the following year & a bit, we took it upon ourselves to enter into as much as possible, with all the enthusiasm of the Rainbows. The Adventure 100 Challenge – was well worth doing with the girls.

The Giant Sleepover is organised by BT to not only try and get as many people sleeping over on one night, and therefore enter the "Guiness book of records", but also to raise awareness of "Save the Children", by all Sleeping over being sponsored to do so. we ended up having 9 girls sleeping over with three adults. We started with a BBQ, then they all made key rings for father's day, followed by colouring cotton bags to put the Goodies in, provided by all the sponsors of the Giant Sleepover. Now it was time to do all their nails. Before getting ready for bed. In the morning before breakfast they all had their hair braided.
A busy but fun time was had by all.
